Proceedings Papers for SCES 2011

All SCES 2011 participants are invited to submit a paper to Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS), while selected speakers will be invited to submit towards a 'topical special issue' of Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter (JPCM), both published by IOP Publishing.

The proceedings of SCES 2010 were published by JPCS and JPCM, and are available online:

Proceedings - Journal of Physics: Conference Series, Volume 273

Topical Special Issue - Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, Volume 23, Issue 9

Instructions for contributed papers

All participants are invited to submit a paper for publication in Journal of Physics: Conference Series (JPCS). JPCS is open access (free to read online), fully citable and receives a more than 2 million full-text article downloads per year, ensuring your paper reaches the widest possible audience. JPCS proceedings are abstracted and indexed in Scopus, Compendex, the Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI Web of Science) and Inspec – among others – with citations also being tracked online by IOP Publishing’s Citing Articles facility.

For papers published in JPCS authors are not required to sign and submit copyright forms, these have been replaced by the IOP Proceedings Licence under which authors retain copyright. By submitting a paper for publication in JPCS it is assumed all authors of the paper agree, in full, to the terms of the licence. Please note that our regular journals are unaffected by this change.

Preparing your JPCS paper

JPCS has a PDF-only workflow and uses author-supplied PDFs for all online and print publication. Consequently, you only need to submit a PDF file of your paper, prepared to the JPCS specifications. Authors are asked to prepare their papers using Microsoft Word or LaTeX2e, according to the journal guidelines and templates, and then convert these files to PDF. Instructions on preparing your paper, together with Microsoft Word and LaTeX2e templates, can be downloaded from the JPCS Guidelines for Authors web page.

How to submit your JPCS paper

The URL for the submission and peer review website will be announced in due course. Please do not submit your papers directly to JPCS.

Instructions for invited papers

Selected speakers will be invited to submit a paper to Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter (JPCM). These papers will then be considered for inclusion in a 'topical special issue' of the journal. All invited contributions to the ‘topical special issue’ will be expected to report new and original results that are unpublished elsewhere, and will be peer-reviewed in line with the usual strict editorial criteria for JPCM. In order to meet these criteria, it may be the case that invited authors will have to submit work that has not been presented at SCES 2011.

The deadline and additional details for preparing your manuscript will be provided in your invitation letter, which will issued in due course. Authors will be asked to submit their paper directly to the JPCM website (and not through the submission website for contributed papers).
