Conference Facilities

The conference is being hosted by Queens' College, Cambridge. The conference oral and poster sessions will take place in the well equipped college facilities, and conference refreshments, lunches and the conference dinner will be catered by the college.

Delegates are encouraged to travel to Cambridge by public transport. Click here for a map showing the location of the airport, bus and train stations. Unfortunately there is no parking at Queens' College and cars will not be admitted into the college. However, car parking is available for meeting delegates at the University Sports Ground off Wilberforce Road. Queens' College is a pleasant 15-20 minute walk from the Sports Ground; click here for a map.

Those wishing to drive to Queens' College to drop off or collect colleagues should note that Silver Street has restricted vehicular access at its west end between 10:00 and 16:00, when Silver Street is blocked by rising bollards between Queens' College and Queen's Road. Queens' College has 24-hour two-way access via Trumpington Street and Silver Street from its east end.


For those who have booked accommodation at Queens' College, you will collect your room key from the registration desk, which will open at 4 pm on Wednesday 5th January in the lobby outside the Fitzpatrick Hall.

Please print and fill in the guest registration form and bring it with you to VMSG registration. This information is for Queens' College and is required for all guests spending the night in college.

On the morning of Friday 7th January, you must return the key to the porter's lodge before 9:30 am. You may leave luggage with the porters.

Queens' is a non-smoking college.

The architectural beauty and fascinating history of Cambridge are well known world-wide. Whilst January may not be the ideal time to take a river tour of the town, it will still be possible to enjoy numerous museums and a wide range of walking or even bus tours as well as the town's excellent shopping opportunities.
